DAY 2; Bible focus

Day 2 has begun! Our focus today was on the idea of faith & works. We are saved alone by faith, but with real faith comes growth which carries works along side it. S.O.S is such a great opportunity to not only tell others about our faith, but to also serve them. We have real faith that God is working through us, and that he will do many great things! This morning we focused on 3 of them. God will Save us, he will save others, and he will Show us the way! 3 handy S's for you to remember there!

Hebrews 11:24-28

New Living Translation (NLT)
24 It was by faith that Moses, when he grew up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter.25 He chose to share the oppression of God’s people instead of enjoying the fleeting pleasures of sin.26 He thought it was better to suffer for the sake of Christ than to own the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking ahead to his great reward. 27 It was by faith that Moses left the land of Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger. He kept right on going because he kept his eyes on the one who is invisible.28 It was by faith that Moses commanded the people of Israel to keep the Passover and to sprinkle blood on the doorposts so that the angel of death would not kill their firstborn sons.

DAY 1; Overview.

Day one of S.O.S is over, and here I am typing away with glitter floating randomly in my hair. We've had various projects happening today such as some gardening, and helping the homeless. But not before starting the morning in the best possible way, with some worship, a talk and prayer. This week we are focusing on the idea of faith, with the verse of the day being Hebrews 11:1 - "Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see."

This is so important to remember when an event like S.O.S is taking place, we have faith in God, and so we need to have faith that with God we can do so much! One way in which we can be a light in the local community is through holiday club. This is where I was today, hence the glitter.

It was a bit of a mash up between the usual holiday club style and Kidz Klub. Another difference being that this year it was held in Trinity instead of Roby, while we had a through the years cafe there instead!

Tomorrow is going to be another busy today, with all the projects continuing as well as a dress rehearsal for the fashion show, half exciting/half very stressful! We also have a lot more informative blog posts coming up, so watch out!

Fast approaching...

S.O.S is fast approaching!  And Before we all know it the week will be upon us.

So its time to start getting ready for those early mornings, great conversations and bright T-shirts heading our way in less then a month. I know I'm excited, and I hope you are as well! In the mean time why not start really praying for the week? Or, start inviting people to get involved with some of the projects we are going to be doing. A fashion show can never have too many models or a audience big enough! And a holiday club can never have enough excited Kids learning a little bit more about Jesus!

But please don't worry if you sadly can't physically be at S.O.S! I'll be running both this blog and the Facebook page all week so you'll be getting loads of updates and interesting stories, just like you are really with us! If your still undecided about getting involved take a look at the promo video here, hopefully it will definitely convince you.

If you are joining, make sure you grab a form at the back of church and sign up! And start getting your fashion  show tickets while you are there...

AND START GETTING EXCITED!
